Therapies
The "Therapies" Section of this website is for
general information only.
Most pages include an introduction to the therapy, photographs,
and sources of further information.
In many cases, these pages have been written by qualified
practitioners of the treatments described. Nevertheless,
visitors are strongly advised to consult a qualified practitioner
in person concerning the suitability of treatments for their
particular case.
Finding Practitioners in your Area:
Personal recommendation is a great way to find a therapist
if you are willing to ask friends, family, colleagues or others
for their suggestions. Alternatively, associations that govern
therapies are often willing to put members of the general
public in contact with qualified practitioners in their area.
In the cases of most of the therapies listed in these pages
there are one or more Associations that :
| |
 |
Regulate and approve the training of practitioners;
|
| |
 |
Offer appropriate insurance for fully qualified practitioners;
|
| |
 |
Represent the interests of the therapy and its users
to government agencies and others, and
|
| |
 |
Make information about their members available to
the general public.
|
Where possible we have included links to these organisations
at the bottom of the page about the therapy.
When arranging treatments always, check that your therapist
is qualified and insured to provide the therapy
you will receive from him or her.
Finding Training Courses:
Again, ask for recommendations if you can. For example, if
you are interested in studying a therapy because of benefits
you have received from it, why not ask your therapist for
his/her suggestions about local training courses ?
Where possible links to organisations that offer training
in the therapies described are also included at the bottom
of the relevant pages.
