Four of Wands

The Tarot Suit of Wands

The "Fours" in the Tarot Deck are the cards that begin to define situation and set relevant boundaries. These incorporate order and structure (but not repression of expression or self-discovery).

In the case of the Four of Wands this represents accomplishment, satisfaction, achievement, and replenishment of personal energies. It is a joyful card that often includes images of fun, partying, and celebration. Some popular decks depict a couple dancing - indicating possible "completion" in the form of a rite of passage.
Some readers are prompted to interpret this card in terms of a Wedding celebration, or similar for other traditions (e.g. Pagan a Handfasting).

This card may encourage the seeker to complete any relationship or issue that he/she has left in limbo, and to enjoy the satisfaction of his/her achievements.

Keywords summarising the possible meanings of this card include:

  • Harmonious relationships
  • Recently acquired prosperity
  • Romance
  • Wedding.
