Three of Cups

The Tarot Suit of Cups

The "Threes" in the Tarot Deck generally suggest a family unit of mother, father and child. This represents the resolution of the tension inherent in the number "two" (to due to opposition of oppposite extremes). However, this numerical "theme" is one of the least apparent of such themes as the card s number three vary widely from suit to suit.

In the case of the Three of Cups, we have one of the most joyous cards in the Tarot Deck. A delightful example of this is shown in the Robin Wood deck in which three young women are depicted dancing energetically yet gracefully holding cups and wearing brightly coloured dresses.

This card is a positive as it looks !
Some commentaries about this card explain that the three women are toasting their successes achieved by working together.

Keywords summarising the possible meanings of this card include:

  • Artistic Talents
  • Fulfillment
  • Good Fortune (Good Luck)
  • Healing
  • Joy
  • Sensitivity.
