E160f is a food additive approved by the European Union
(EU).
It is used as a natural colouring agent in food and drink products.
The common name for E160f is the Ethyl ester of
Beta-apo-8'-carotenic acid (C30).
E160f is an orange/red colouring, that is partially
soluble in water. It occurs naturally in many plants but
can also be commercially
produced from Beta-apo-8'-carotenal (C30) (E160e).
No adverse health effects have been found in connection with the use
of E160f.
Examples of food/drink products that may include E160f:
Processed cheese and
citrus fruits.
