E952 is a food additive approved by the EU (European Union).
It is
used as a synthetic sweetener in food and drink products.
The common name for E952 is cyclamic acid.
E952 is approximately x30 sweeter than natural sugar.
It is remains stable at high temperatures, which enables it to be used
in cooked foods, such as
bakery products.
Due to links between the use of E952 and the incidence
of some cancers, E952 has been
banned in the Unite States.
It is also known to cause migraines and adverse
skin conditions, such as pruritis.
