Antifungal

The term antifungal refers to therapeutic agents (e.g. natural substances such as herbs, oils, or essences, or conventional pharmaceutical drugs) that kills/destroys fungal infections. Some text describe the action of antifungal agents as "combating or preventing" fungal infections.

The meaning of the term antifungal is easily remembered from its form:
The anti- part of the word refers to the fact that this agent combats/attacks something, and
the -fungal part of the word indicates that the something it combats "fungi", or fungal infections.

Note that another term whose meaning is the same as antifungal is fungicidal.
