Fibula

Get a new perspective - with a Hot Air Balloon Flight. Fly from locations all over the UK.

The fibula is the long thin outer bone of the lower-leg (the other bone of the lower-leg being the tibia).
The head of the fibula articulates with the tibia while the lower end of the fibula articulates with one side of the talus.

The location of the fibula is shown in the diagram opposite.

See the Revision page about Bones of the Foot, Ankle, and Lower-Legs for further information including a larger fully labelled diagram. This may be particularly interesting study/revision material for students following courses in Reflexology because such courses generally require a good basic knowledge of the skeletal structures of the hands and feet.
