Pediculicide

The term pediculicide is refers to therapeutic agents (e.g. natural substances such as herbs, oils, or essences, or conventional pharmaceutical drugs) that kill and therefore destroy lice.

Examples of chemical pediculicides include:

  • benzyl benzoate
  • carbaryl
  • lindane
  • malathione, and
  • permethrin.
