The term hypertensive refers
to therapeutic agents (e.g. natural substances such as herbs, oils, or
essences, or conventional pharmaceutical drugs) that increase (raise)
blood pressure.
"Hypertensive" is generally easy to remember
in this context due to its similarity to the word "hypertension" -
which is the medical condition of high blood pressure. (Hypertension
my occur for a variety of causes, such as kidney disease, endocrine diseases,
or be due to unknown causes.)
