Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass is one of many (scented) essential oils used in aromatherapy.
Essential oils are generally used in very small quantities, e.g. measured as a small number of drops of the essential oil in a larger quantity of an appropriate carrier oil.

Steam distillation (of fresh and partially dried leaves/grass, finely chopped).

Main Constituents:

citral, myrcene, dipentene, methylheptenone, linalol, geraniol, nerol, citronellol, farnesol.

From:

West Indian Lemongrass: Native to Sri Lanka, widely cultivated.
East Indian Lemongrass: Native to East India but now cultivated in West India.
