| Radiobiology is the study of the effects
of radiation on living cells and organisms (including, but not limited
to, their effects on the human body).
For example, one area of radiobiology involes studying the effects of
radiation on cancer cells - which has important application in refining
and improving the development of radiotherapeutic techniques to treat
malignant tumours.
This is a relatively new area of science/medicine.

This part of the IvyRose Holistic Resources Glossary is included as a
study-aid for students following first-level courses in human biology,
medicine, nursing, natural or holistic therapies, and associated theoretical
courses - who are required recognise and understand medical terms such
as those of the disciplines within medicine.
