The term iridodialysis refers
to a tear in the attachment of the iris and ciliary
body of the eye.
Iridodialysis is likely to be caused by an injury
to the eye.
It may be diagnosed by observation of the characteristic apperance
of a dark crescentric gap at the edge of the iris (the coloured part
of the eye) - where the tear has occurred.
There may also be visible
disturbance to the pupil of
the eye.
