The Ciliary Body is located in each eye in
the human body.
(Some animals have eyes structured in a very similar
way to human eyes, whereas some other animals have eyes that are structured
and work in very different ways.)
The ciliary body connects the choroid with
the iris,
and consists of three zones.
They are:
*_ The ciliary ring - which is attached
to the choroid,
*_ The ciliary
processes - which forms part of the
attachment to the lens,
*_ The ciliary
muscle - which controls the curvature
of the lens, and therefore its accommodation to enable us to view both
close
and distant objects according to where our vision is focused.
The subject of visual (also known as "physiological")
optics is a key component of many courses within the fields of
both biology and physics. It is also an essential consideration
in the design of displays and control units used in many applications
from
televisions
and mobile telephones to advanced aircraft. In the context of engineering
"visual optics" is one of several medical and psychological topics in
the important area of "Human Factors". |
