Testosterone is the principal androgen or male sex a hormone and is secreted primarily by the testes (male endocrine glands in the scrotum).

Testosterone is important for :

Development and function of male sex organs.

Secondary sexual characteristics. e.g. body hair, muscle development, voice change.
