Thymosin is a
hormone secreted by the thymus (an
endocrine gland in the human body).
Endocrine glands differ from "exocrine" glands in that exocrine glands
have ducts (so may be referred to as "ducted") whereas endocrine glands
do not have ducts (and so may be referred to as "ductless").

The roles of the hormone thymosin include activating
the immune system by activating the T-Cells (T-Killer Cells; T-Helper
Cells; T-Memory Cells) - which are types of lymphocytes
in the blood.
