Acne vulgaris is a bacterial skin condition.

More specifically, acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory condition of the sebaceous glands.
These grease-producing glands are under androgen control, but the cause of acne is unknown.
Acne vulgaris
may occur on the face, back and chest and is characterized by the presence of blackheads with papules, pustules - and in more severe cases - cysts and scars. It is readily treatable.
