Watermelon Tourmaline is a
form of tourmaline that consists of a green or blue rind (outer-band)
and a pink or red centre.
Shades may vary from sample to sample but the
most common combination of colours resembles those of a watermelon
- hence the name. This is a particularly beautiful and interesting crystal,
though it can be relatively expensive, even for just a small peice.
(Our
advice is to be patient and shop around - watermelon tourmaline really
is best viewed in person so we haven't included any links to websites
selling this delightful crystal.) There are many associations with the gemstone watermelon tourmaline.
These are said to include:
* _ "Super Activator" of the heart chakra;
* _ Helping people to perceive beyond the
immediate "seriousness" of an experience or situation;
* _ Recogizing the benefits of experiences/situations;
* _ Facilitating experience and enjoyment
of the beauty of nature;
* _ Inspiration of tact.
(The above associations are as mentioned in the book "Love is in the
Earth" - illustrated right, below.) |
