Talus

The Talus (also known as the astragalus) is one of the tarsal bones in the foot.
It is colloquially referred to as the "ankle bone".

The location of the Talus is indicated in the diagram opposite - where all the tarsal bones are shaded blue to identify the group of them as a group.

See the Revision page about Bones of the Foot, Ankle, and Lower-Legs for further information including a larger fully labelled diagram. This may be particularly interesting study/revision material for students following courses in Reflexology because such courses generally require a good basic knowledge of the skeletal structures of the hands and feet.
