| The Adductor Magnus is a muscle located in the inside
upper-thigh. This may be included on diagrams of both the human anterior
and posterior muscles.
As an example, to test your knowledge look at the image opposite and
decide which muscle you think the adductor longus is, then click on the
image
to check
if
you were correct, and for the labels of all the other muscles illustrated.
For a detailed illustration of its location see the pages about Anterior
Muscles and/or Posterior
Muscles in the Revision for Therapists
Section of the IvyRose website.
Note that it should also be easy to work out the function of the Adductor
Magnus because an "adductor" is any muscle that moves one part of the body
towards another, or towards the mid-line of the body.
The adductor magnus,
located in each leg, moves the leg towards the mid-line of the body.
