gemstone that has a trigonal crystal structure (because it
is a form of quartz). Quartz is the common name for the crystal form
of silicon dioxide.
Red Aventurine differs from other forms of quartz
because it includes other elements that subtly affect its structure
and result in its predominately red or light maroon colour.
