The term pseudophakia refers to state
(situation) in which the natural lens
of an eye
has been replaced with a plastic implant lens located at approximately
the position previously occupied by the natural lens.
One reason why the natural lens might have been replaced in this way
is surgery to treat cataract/s in the eye.
