| Although hemp
seed oil (from Cannabis sativa)
is included in some of the standard texts about carrier oils used for
massage, aromtherapy, and other bodywork therapies, it is not as ommonly
used or widely available as most of the other carrier oils featured here.
[The
most popular carrier oils for bodywork therapies include Sweet
Almond Oil, Grapeseed
Oil,
Peach
Kernel Oil and Apricot
Kernel Oil.]
Hemp seed oil is similar in colour to dark olive oil and has a similar
flavour to sunflower oil. It does not contain the psychoactive substances
present in the plant. The flowers and leaves of the hemp plant are used
to produce narcotics but hemp seeds yeild an oil used in the manufacture
of some soaps and oil paints.
