On this exploration of the far reaches of Megalithic Britain
we will be taking epic sea cruises far north of the mainland.
Our first ferry will be from Aberdeen to Kirkwall on the Orkney
Isles, which is the home of some of the most important ancient
sites anywhere, including the Great Sacred Monuments of Stenne
, Maes Howe, The Ring of Brogar, the Standing Stones of Stenness
and many more.
We will also visit other Orkney attractions such as the Italian
Church, which was created and beautifully painted by Italian prisoners
of war. Other visits will include the erie masts of the shipwrecks
in the Sound of Holm, an early Christian church, (reminiscent
of the Kiels on the Isle of Man) and the Puffin cliffs at Brough
Head and more as we traverse the island.
