New Year Resolutions - Help from FREE Podcasts
According to today's Press Release from the Mental Health Foundation, a leading UK mental health research, policy and service improvement charity, "millions" of people make New Year's resolutions every January yet 78% of people fail to achieve them.
What a depressing statistic.
This year the Mental Health Foundation has published two podcasts focussing on the most popular New Year's resolutions and providing advice about how to approach them in a mentally healthy way.
- New Year's Resolutions - A Healthy Diet
The first podcast looks at why exercise makes you feel good and provides some useful tips on how to start exercising more.
- New Year's Resolutions - Exercise
The second podcast examines the link between diet and mental health and explains how small changes to eating habits can improve your overall physical and mental wellbeing. This podcast is accompanied by a printable food and mood diary to help people keep track of their efforts.
Dr Andrew McCulloch, Chief executive of the Mental Health Foundation said:
" Many people find it difficult to stick to their New Year's resolutions as they strive for unrealistic goals and ultimately set themselves up for a failure. Healthy eating and regular exercise have a real positive impact on our mental and physical health and we hope that the useful tips and small achievable steps suggested in our podcasts provide people with the help they need to achieve their resolutions for a mentally healthy 2012."
The podcasts are free and available to download from the iTunes link on the page:
