Sainsbury's withdraws its Strawberry Pencils

Health Food - illustrating an item from the UK Food Standards Agency.

Sainsbury's has withdrawn its Strawberry Pencils (75g), because the product contains wheat gluten but a 'suitable for coeliacs' label appears on the product packaging. Coeliacs are people with coeliac disease and are sensitive to gluten. This product might be a health risk for people who are allergic to or intolerant of wheat gluten.

The Agency has issued an Allergy Alert advising anyone with an allergy of or intolerance to wheat gluten not to eat this product.
