Vulnerary

The term vulnerary is sometimes used to refer to therapeutic agents (such as creams, gels, or the active ingredients of such preparations) that facilitate to healing of sores or wounds when applied to the skin.

That is, an agent that has vulnerary properties is used by external application, as opposed to being ingested in liquid or tablet form.

As "vulnerary" is not a commonly used medical term, it is not included in all leading medical dictionaries.
