Violet is
one of many (scented) essential oils used in aromatherapy.
Essential
oils are generally used in very small quantities, e.g. measured as a
small number of drops of the essential oil in a larger quantity of
an appropriate carrier
oil. Violet is one of the lesser known/used essential oils.
Properties*:

anti-inflammatory;
antirheumatic;
antiseptic;
decongestant;
diuretic;
expectorant;
laxative;
soporific. |
Method of Extraction: |
Concrete and absolute oils are extracted from the fresh leaves
and from the flowers, the resulting oils having different physical
characteristics.

nonadienal, parmone, hexyl alcohol, bezyl alcohol, ionone, viola
quercitin.. |
