Violet Essential Oil

Violet is one of many (scented) essential oils used in aromatherapy. Essential oils are generally used in very small quantities, e.g. measured as a small number of drops of the essential oil in a larger quantity of an appropriate carrier oil. Violet is one of the lesser known/used essential oils.

Method of Extraction:

Concrete and absolute oils are extracted from the fresh leaves and from the flowers, the resulting oils having different physical characteristics.

Main Constituents:

nonadienal, parmone, hexyl alcohol, bezyl alcohol, ionone, viola quercitin..

From:

Native to Europe and parts of Asia. Extensively cultivated (worldwide).
