Uveoparotitis

Uveoparotitis is a term that refers to inflammation of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid components of the eye.
This term is relatively easy to interpret because the regions of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid are known collectively as the uvea - and the suffix -itis usually indicates "inflammation" of the preceding anatomical part of the body, in this case the uvea.

However, uveoparotitis also involves swelling of the parotid salivary gland.

One of the reasons that diagnosis of this condition is important is that it is one of the manifestations of another chronic disease, which is called sarcoidosis or "Boeck's disease" (from which complete recovery is possible).
