| An ulcer can occur in any places in
the body.
A skin ulcer is a break in the skin such that there is
a loss of the
epidermis
and
part
or all of the
dermis
of the skin,
leaving a moist depressed lesion.
There
are many types of skin ulcer, and also
ulcers that affect other parts of the body. Ulcer is included in this
section because it is a type of skin lesion. These are required study
for many
courses
in aspects of health and holistic
therapies, especially bodywork therapies.
