Triceps Brachii

The triceps brachii are a pair of muscles located in each of the upper-arms of the human body.

The word "biceps" refers to a muscle that has two heads, that is two points of origin (see table below).

Point(s) of Origin:

Long Head: Infraglenoid tubercle of scapula;
Medial & Lateral Head: Posterior surface of humerus.

Point(s) of Insertion:

Through a flat tendon to the olecranon process of ulna.

Action(s):

Extends the elbow.
Slight adduction of shoulder.
