Trabeculectomy

A Trabeculectomy is an alternative term meaning the same as goniotomy.

A Trabeculectomy is an operation performed for congenital glaucoma in which a very fine knife is used to cut into the Schlemm's Canal from within the eye itself.

This procedure is the first stage in goniopuncture (a rarely performed operation for congenital glaucoma).
