Scale is a term used to refer to flakes of dead epidermal cells
shed by the skin.
More specifically, scale consists of the heaping-up
of keratin in the stratum
corneum of the skin..
Scale is included in this section because it is a type
of skin lesion. These are required study for many courses in aspects
of health and holistic therapies, especially bodywork therapies.
