Rhomboid Minor

The rhomboid minor muscles are deep muscles located in the upper-back (posterior torso) of the body.

For a detailed illustration of the location of the rhomboid minor muscles see the page Posterior Muscles.

Further information about the rhomboid minor muscles is summarised below:

Point(s) of Origin:

Vertebrae C6 to C7.

Point(s) of Insertion:

Medial border of the scapula (shoulder bone).

Action(s):

Braces and rotates the scapula (shoulder bone), and pulls it towards the spine.

This may be particularly interesting study/revision material for students following courses in massage and similar bodywork therapies because these generally require a good basic knowledge of the muscular structures of the body.
