Nux vomica

Nux vomica is a homeopathic remedy that is also known by the full name "Stychnos nux vomica".

Nux vomica is a homeopathic remedy that has very many uses - especially in cases of conditions affecting the digestive system. General indications that this remedy may help include sensitivity to cold and draughts, symptoms mainly on the right-side of the body, patient has workaholic personality/characteristics - sometimes being demanding and irritable; symptoms worsening after overeating or drinking.

Examples of conditions for which nux vomica has been found to help include nausea or vomiting due to inability to digest food (such as a rich "heavy" meal), desire to vomit in expectation of feeling better afterwards, also morning sickness, colic, abdominal pain, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea, piles. Nux vomica is also used in cases of heartburn and "hangover" headaches.
