Iliacus

The iliacus is a flat triangular muscle located in the groin area at the front (anterior) of the body.

Point(s) of Origin:

Anterior, inferior iliac spine and iliac fossa (on the ilium bone).

Point(s) of Insertion:

Lessor trochanter (on the femur bone).

Action(s):

Flexes (bends) the hip.
