| E219 is a food additive approved by
the European Union (EU) and is used as an antifungal synthetic preservative
in food products, drugs and cosmetics.
This chemical is more affective against yeasts and fungi
than against bacteria.
The chemical name for E219 is sodium methyl
p-hydroxybenzoate.
E219 has been linked with to a numb mouth, as well as irritation to
the skin and is banned in Australia.

Ice cream, baked goods, medicine.
