Decongestant

The term decongestant refers to therapeutic agents (e.g. natural substances such as herbs or oils, or pharmaceutical drugs) that relieve and/or reduce congestion such as mucus in the respiratory system. Sometimes the term decongestant is used to refer to relieving specifically nasal congestion.

Most allopathic decongestant drugs are sympathomimetic* drugs (typically in the form of drops, tablets or spays).
