Cycloplegia

Cycloplegia is the term used to refer to paralysis of the ciliary muscle of eye.

One important consequence of cycloplegia is the inability to focus (that is to change the shape of the lens) of the affected eye. This is often associated with the related condition of iridoplegia - which is paralysis of the iris and results in fixed pupil size (known technically as "mydriasis").
